Much like Storm Claudia swept through the north-west the prior day, Manchester City swept United aside at the their home ground. It was a statement 3-0 triumph for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they consolidated their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Defeats for United

This result marked consecutive WSL setbacks for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them seven points off the table toppers with their title hopes severely dented.

United’s capacity to juggle league and continental soccer with a small team has been a frequently analyzed subject since they secured entry to the Champions League.
