Zelenskyy Inspects Defenders Near Conflict-Stricken Pokrovsk Area

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a trip to meet with defense personnel in the eastern front on Tuesday. The head of state also approved legislation authorizing recruitment throughout the year whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in cooler seasons. The national leader appealed to Washington to continue considering to supplying Kyiv with far-reaching military equipment. Addressing a European Union summit from the conflict zone, the national leader also called for more international restrictions on Russia – including on fuel and power segments – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU prior to the next decade.

Foreign Aid and Political Changes

The European nation plans to increase defense support to the eastern European country by €3bn next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the finance ministry in the capital said on the start of the week. This includes, among other things, heavy weapons, drones, protected carriers and the exchange of missile defense equipment.
